The Watercolor Society of Indiana seeks to educate Indiana residents about the discipline of the watercolor medium through exhibits, juried competitions, classes, discussions, demonstrations, outreach programs and community service.
The Part-Time Executive Director of the Watercolor Society of Indiana partners with an active group of volunteer leaders dedicated to vibrant operations, programs and plans. Key duties include meeting preparation, financial oversight and member communications. Averaging 20 hours per week, this position offers flexible hours and allows for work remotely and in an office setting. Provides opportunities to coordinate the exhibition of member talent, contact with professional artists through the U. S., as well as support young artists through scholarship offerings.
Provide notice for quarterly board meetings along with agenda, committee reports and appropriate meeting minutes. Maintain current and historical meeting records at WSI Office and assist in orienting new board members.
Manage monthly income and expense activity. Provide quarterly board reports for WSI Board Treasurer. Prepare annual 1099's.
Member Events and Programs
Coordinate special events in partnership with appropriate Board Chairs, including an Annual Membership and Juried Show Exhibit, Workshops. Assist in executing Membership meetings, typically held three times per year.
Oversee WSI Website and quarterly newsletter, as well as support social media activity. Act as key communicator with WSI members and other significant contacts, providing event and educational information.
Resource Maintenance and Development
Manage annual membership renewal and data base. Work with appropriate Board/Committee Chairs to develop membership and fundraising activities. Oversee administration of annual scholarship program.
Maintain office supplies, equipment and files. Manage WSI Calendar of Activities.
At least two years of leadership experience with a general understanding of financial management, program development and fundraising. Special consideration given to candidates with a remote technology background and familiarity with nonprofit management. Candidates should exhibit strong interpersonal skills and willingness to work independently.
