The Indiana Forest Alliance plays a vital role in preserving Indiana's forests and reducing the state's carbon footprint. Come deploy your management and communications skills and be part of a six-member staff devoted to promoting pro-forest environmental policy.
The Indiana Forest Alliance is celebrating 25 years as the only organization devoted to preserving Indiana's forests. We use grassroots activism and scientific research to promote pro-forest environmental policy at the local and state level. We are Hoosiers who love Indiana's wild places as hikers, nature enthusiasts, horseback riders, hunters, mountain bikers, scientists, and more. We have nearly 1,000 members statewide and 12K Facebook followers.
The Director of Operations & Communications:
-Ensures the smooth operation and functioning of IFA by supervising four staff members and making certain they meet deadlines and produce meaningful research, reports, programs, outreach, events and fundraising plans.
-Manages IFA's public statements and brand
-Manages IFA's website and social media
-Excels at written and visual communication
-Reports to the Executive Director
Bachelor's degree in English, communications, humanities, ecology, public policy, business or a related subject is required. The ideal candidate will be familiar with WordPress, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and online CRM databases such as Bloomerang and Nationbuilder. Knowledge of forest ecology is a huge plus. The candidate will be results-oriented, creative, and passionate about environmental advocacy with an understanding of how non-profits operate. Excellent writing, speaking, and editing skills a must. At least three to four years of work experience required.
