The Accounting & HR Support person will provide administrative support to both the Finance and HR functions of the organization. The time will be split between both departments in a ratio determined by the needs of each team at any given time. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

Finance Tasks 

  • Accounts Payable - including data entry of invoices and receipts, processing program payment requests, recording electronic payments completed by Finance personnel, while maintaining of vendor records and W9s 
  • Coding expenses to chart of accounts and by department, grant, and other dimensions 
  • Matching records and receipts to statements for reconciliation 

HR Tasks 

  • Allocate benefits invoices 
  • Assist with annual benefits renewals 
  • Assist with personnel data management 
  • Assist with scheduling new employee orientation 
  • Manage and monitor postage stamp needs and use 
  • Receive, open, and distribute all incoming mail 

Administrative Support 

  • Scanning and electronically attaching records into Financial Management System, as needed 
  • Maintaining files in accordance with internal controls procedures and document retention requirements 
  • Other administrative filing, reporting, or processing for Finance and Personnel 

Skills/Experience Required: 

  • Associates degree in related field preferred 
  • Minimum 2 years related experience preferred 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Strong computer skills and ability to adapt to new systems and technology 
  • Keen attention to detail 
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team to positively impact community 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment 
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively 
  • Military experience or close ties to military is a plus 

Work Environment: 

  • Core work week of 40 hours would fall between Monday-Friday 
  • May involve evenings and weekends as needed
