Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana, Inc. (RMHCCIN) is growing our team to further the mission of providing comfort, care, connections, and services to families of ill and injured children receiving care at Indianapolis-area hospitals. In a new role, the Development Coordinator should have an exceptional eye for detail and a passion for data, our development coordinator will always be on the lookout for ways to make donating to the House a rewarding experience. RMHCCIN is looking for a bold and outgoing relationship-builder to elevate our annual fund, corporate, individual giving programs, and an as an ambassador of the House to all guests, donors, volunteers, and the public.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

I.  Direct Mail

•Manages all direct mail fundraising solicitations.
•Contract with direct mail consultant for New Donor Acquisition mailings.
•Work with direct mail consultant to plan and implement strategy for direct mail solicitations including list management, market segmentation acquisitions and evaluation; as well as manage the relationship with the direct mail consultant and monitor performance.
•Conceptualize and create in-house direct mail pieces to move donors from acquisition to renewal.
 
II.   Individual Giving
•Oversee the strategy and execution of an individual donor program to grow donor pool of individuals making gifts of $100+ and achieve individual giving revenue goals.
•Manage all cultivation and stewardship activities for annual donors, including creation and execution of stewardship reports, thank-you calls, welcome mailings, tours and personal visits as needed.
•Engage volunteers, board members and staff in the donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship process. 
•Explore online giving strategies in collaboration with marketing team.

III.   Corporate and "Other" Giving

•Assume a small portfolio of corporate donors supporting the House through philanthropic gifts in lieu of sponsorship or third-party event support.
•Manage the Adopt – a -Room program.
•Work closely with workplace giving organizations to facilitate workplace campaigns and matching gift programs.
• Attend appropriate meetings, be responsible for the displays at giving fairs and promote other giving opportunities.

IV.   Administration

•Work with development team to ensure appropriate coding in Raiser's Edge database for reporting, acknowledgement, recognition, communications, and continued cultivation of past, current and prospective donors.
•Record all significant donor interactions in Raiser's Edge according to Moves Management guidelines.
•Report on key metrics and analyze donor trends to drive strategic decision-making.
•Collaborate with the development team to analyze portfolios, identify prospects, develop solicitation strategies, and strengthen the House's overall donor pipeline.
•Participate in all activities of the fundraising department including twice monthly meetings, annual planning retreat, monthly revenue and goal tracking, and collaborative work across program areas. 

V.   Other Responsibilities

•Acts as a spokesperson at public events to include check presentations, outside events, informational talks, etc. by passionately representing the RMHCCIN mission, programs and message.
•Assist with all RMHCCIN fundraising and marketing events as directed.
•Serve as the staff liaison to the Young Professionals Board.
•Serve on assigned committees, providing staff support as requested.
•Supervise interns and/or volunteers when applicable.
•Perform other related duties incidental to the work outlined in this position description.
•Contribute the RHMCCIN team efforts by maintaining positive, supportive and flexible working relationships with fellow staff and volunteers in our mutual pursuit of providing comfort and care to families of seriously ill or injured children being served by our facility.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

•Bachelor's Degree and minimum of three (3) years progressive responsibilities with annual campaign and proven fundraising results. 
• Knowledge of the basic principles, concepts, and methodology of fundraising in not-for-profit organizations. Must adhere to Association of Fundraising Professionals' "Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice.
•Strong organizational, administration, telephone, and interpersonal communication skills; detail and "big picture" oriented.
•Must be outgoing, service minded and compassionate.
•Comprehensive understanding of donor databases preferred. 
•Works independently and energetically; handles large numbers of details with ease; meets deadlines; operates comfortably in a fast paced, conceptual environment and able to turn strategy and concept into a detailed work plan with goals and objectives.
•Solid writing, editing and presentation ability. 
•Professional demeanor, flexible and able to respond to multiple demands. 
•Ability to adjust to a flexible work schedule, including weekends and evenings when needed.
•Demonstrated ability to effectively work with people from a variety of backgrounds including families in crisis.
•Responsible, dependable, flexible, trustworthy, and able to function with minimal direct supervision.
•Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is primarily indoor office but will have some outdoor work or activities, including special events in various venues. Ability to lift to 25 pounds.
