Position Summary

The Director of Support Services sets overall vision and priorities for the supportive services programs of the Damien Center. Has direct oversight of medical and non-medical case management, insurance enrollment programs, retention in care, and client engagement strategies. Acts as the lead contact for supportive service collaborations including legal services. Manages program budgets, grant scopes of work, and successful outcomes. Develops collaborations with other community case management programs and internal integration with other agency services. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Functions within an interdisciplinary team ensuring quality program implementation across all case management and insurance team members
  • Maintain active knowledge of Indiana State Department of Health and Marion County Public Health Department standards of care and actively seek to implement them
  • Monitors efficient client enrollment into insurance programs and that clients maintain continuous insurance coverage, developing strategies to increase efficiency 
  • Provides support and active case management during staff transitions
  • Participates in evaluative and quality assurance activities to ensure professional accountability to the agency, funders, and clients served
  • Partners with the clinical team to ensure effective coordination of care and integration of insurance and case management functions into quality care
  • Provides direct crisis intervention services when appropriate
  • Develops strategies for clients retention in care
  • Creates clients engagement programs for families and individuals 
  • Develops and maintains client records and oversees that documentation is completed effectively
  • Prepares both monthly and quarterly reports as required by program funder and program managers
  • Supervises all staff on the Supportive Services Team, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Develops and supports working collaborations with other social service and mental health providers in the community
  • Provides resources, consultation, and training to agency staff as needed
  • ·      Represents Damien Center at community events and meetings in order to coordinate and provide collaborative care

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required in social work, public health, or similar field; Master's Degree Preferred 
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in case management, benefits enrollment, and social services required
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience required
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred, but not required
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with HIV/AIDS preferred
  • Effective communicate both written and verbally required
  • Able to maintain confidential and sensitive information required
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and projects required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds
  • Perform other duties as assigned
