The Ascension St. Vincent Foundation is currently hiring an Annual Giving Officer. This position is responsible for managing and leading the annual giving program with a concentration on donations up to $10,000. The Annual Giving Officer will be a key member of all fundraising campaigns (both internal and external), and will engage in personal visits and outreach to cultivate and solicit prospects and donors. 

The Ascension St. Vincent Foundation is the philanthropic arm for Ascension St. Vincent ministries, raising funds from grateful patients and their families, corporate and foundation contributors, physicians, nurses and staff, and community members. Job Responsibilities 

  • Implement strategies to meet fundraising goals of approximately $1M+ annually 
  • Coordinate statewide efforts for associate giving and serve as fundraising lead for Central Indiana 
    • Oversee and implement Associates Campaigns in Central Indiana and across the state 
    • Participate and lead associate solicitations, including key internal leaders 
    • Write and implement all messaging for Campaign, including direct mail and e-solicitations
    • Assist in the project selection and manage co-chairs and volunteers 
    • Design and order materials and supplies for campaign efforts
    • Implement follow-up strategies for associates throughout the Campaign 
    • Develop recognition strategies for Campaigns to help motivate associate participation
    • Facilitate ongoing, year-round associate giving for Central Indiana to increase the number of new associate donors
  • Oversee Friends of the Foundation and Physicians Society (annual individual and physician donors of $1,000+) for Central Indiana, and develop and implement program statewide 
    • Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 donors annual giving donors as assigned and strategize renewals
    • Work with major gift team to identify annual donors as major gift prospects
    • Review monthly list of expiring members, assign to staff members, and implement renewal strategies
    • Ensure timely mailings of annual donors for re-solicitation
    • Develop and implement promotional strategies to grow the program
    • Follow-up and visit with annual giving society members who may be in the hospital as appropriate
  • Develop and manage grateful patient programs and giving societies, working closely with the major gift team hospital staff to identify grateful programs and ensure they have proper Foundation resources available
  • Identify and implement strategies to acquire new donors to the Foundation
  • Oversee budget and timelines for assigned areas, ensuring deadlines are met 
  • Work collaboratively with Foundation staff
  • Assist with additional projects as assigned 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree required
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • 3 years of fundraising experience preferred
  • Certification specializing in fundraising preferred
