Job Summary:

Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center is looking for a Senior Service Coordinator to service seniors within the Northwest side of Indianapolis.  The coordinator is to manage and provide access to necessary supportive services in the community, provide case management services as needed and requested, and develop programs and resources that support wellness for the community's residents.

The Senior Service Coordinator will also organize and plan all recreational and health activities for senior citizens within the community.  The Senior Coordinator will split time between service coordination and activities director and report to the Health Coordinator of Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center at Crooked Creek and housed at a partnering senior living facility.

Overall Duties:

  • Manage 50 to 100 caseloads on an ongoing basis
  • Advocates on behalf of their residents and senior program within the northwest side of Indpls
  • Provide resources for residents on available community- based services, 
  • Facilitates wellness and education programs for the seniors
  • Champions and encourages residents to adhere to a healthy lifestyle

Core Functions 

  • Conducting comprehensive, non-clinical assessments of resident for wellness and social needs
  • Helping senior residents to identify, access, and coordinate services 
  • Proactivity develop and arrange educational/preventative health programs and assistance for residents
  • Maintain an up to date resources directory with all local services and resources 
  • Create a programming schedule that will encourage and support the social engagement of seniors

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

  • Excellent organizational skills, attentiveness to detail 
  • Ability to work with multiple directors and work plans
  • Experience with collaborative, team-oriented environments
  • A minimal bachelor's degree (or appropriate work experience)
  • Knowledge of and training in elderly and disability services
  • Training in cultural competency and bilingual skills are an asset
  • Preferred degree in social work, public health, or human services, 
  • Previous work experience preferred
  • Have a good understanding of MS Office Suite required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work Monday thru Friday with the possibility of traveling off-site
