Description

Be part of Kiwanis Children's Fund and transform the goodwill and vision of Kiwanis members into programs that serve the children of the world. Responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating various philanthropic programs including club and district grant programs, youth scholarships and nonprofit fund management. Attention to detail, compassionate ear, strong work ethic and master of juggling multiple tasks are vital. 

POSITION OBJECTIVE/JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating various philanthropic programs. Perform a variety of complicated tasks related to the administration of grant programs which require a high level of accuracy as well as a certain degree of creativity and latitude. Responsible for assisting grant applicants and grantees, financial reporting, payment disbursement, project research and donor outreach. Manage and monitor special funds. Evaluation of grants and creation of impact reports. Work with fundraising team and communications department to provide impact stories that will enhance giving.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage all aspects of assigned grant programs including administrative and financial reporting functions and grants management software administration (25%)
  • Design, implement and evaluate a wide range of philanthropic programs (25%)
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all foundation constituents (20%)
  • Manage scholarship program including database administration (15%)
  • Manage assigned portfolio of funds that created the programs, ensuring that policies and procedures are followed, expense approval up to US $5000, and financial reporting (10%)
  • Liaison to the Kiwanis Finance department in areas of fund management (5%)

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Promote the foundation and its programs at events as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in public affairs, philanthropic studies, civic leadership, management, or equivalent
  • Fund management and/or fund accounting knowledge

Experiential Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of increasing professional responsibility directly related to the position
  • Proven experience in program development, implementation and evaluation
  • Microsoft Office Suite products and Internet proficiency
  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures in the nonprofit field highly desired
  • Professional or volunteer experience in a nonprofit or membership-based organization highly desired
  • Fundraising and grants management software experience, specifically with Foundant
  • Adobe Suite and Google Suite products experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of Net Suite financial system
  • Customer service skills in a membership association environment a plus

Other Requirements:

  • Kiwanis Family experience a plus
  • Multilingual a plus
  • Nonprofit management experience
  • Experience with grants and scholarships
  • Knowledge of funds management and fund accounting

WORKING CONDITIONS/OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Evening and weekend work may be required, but minimal
  • Travel may be required, but minimal
  • Requires sitting at a computer a large portion of the day
  • Requires responding to phone calls and emails
