Responsible for promotion of the agency and its services to existing and prospective customers through strategic use of graphics, logos, and other promotional products.  Will coordinate and develop marketing policies, programs, and campaigns. Will plan, develop, implement, and analyze community relation campaigns and related events. Will identify and apply for various grants that meet the organization's needs, overseeing the grant application process from beginning to end.

Carey Services was established in 1954 through the efforts of parents of persons with disabilities and concerned citizens of our communities. Their purpose in 1954 still serves as the underlying philosophy of what drives Carey Services today...helping people turn abilities and barriers into opportunities.

Carey Services is a community-based organization which receives strong support from a broad cross-section of consumers, families, businesses and charitable interests. Supports and services are determined through person-centered planning, whereby consumers and their families direct the planning and allocation of resources to meet their own individual life goals.

Key Result Areas/ Accountabilities   

Program Development  

A.            Responsible for planning, developing and managing the services within marketing and grant programs.  

B.            Responsible for consulting with other agency departments and staff to facilitate the effectiveness of marketing programs and grant opportunities. 

C.            Responsible for assisting the President in the development of agency policies and procedures and marketing plans. 

D.            Responsible for the development of new business and partnerships as related to promoting the agency and its services.  

E.            Creates and coordinate multimedia packages.

F.            Initiate, research, and develop strategies to advance Carey Services.

G.           Responsible for tracking and documenting metrics related to fund development such as donor contacts, donor tiers, financial progress, grant tracking, financial models communicating progress and comparisons, including maintaining the Fund Development software system

Public Awareness 

A.            Builds and maintains relationships with members of the community.

B.            Plans, develops, implements, and organizes events to advance the mission and goals of the agency.

C.            Organizes community outreach programs and coordinates special events that will influence public opinion or promote services, or ides of the agency.

D.            Uses social media to coordinate community relations.  Drafts and distributes/publishes various content pieces that promote the agency.

E.            Plans, coordinates and executes special event and press conferences.

F.            Selects positive publicity materials and distributes them through a variety of channels.

G.           Attends trade shows and community fairs and staffs the company booth.

Financial/Budget/Reporting

                A.            Responsible for preparing and managing departmental budget and operating services within budget.

B.            Responsible for timely reporting of Program Evaluation Criteria information related to Marketing and fundraising.

Funding and Grants

Researches various types of grants available and the criteria to qualify for each.

A.                Discusses available sources of funding with administrative managers.

B.                 Compiles necessary information for the application process through collaboration with other employees, database research, and other factfinding actions and meetings.

C.                 Drafts and completes grant applications according to application requirements.

D.                Ensures grant is submitted on time and within application parameters.

E.                 Completes all documents, forms, or reports required by the grant.

F.                  Coordinates the monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects that are funded by grants.

G.                Develops and maintains master files on grants and paperwork connected to programs funded by grants.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in business administration, or a related field, plus fundraising and grant writing experience a must. Prefer a Marketing Degree or related certification.  Must possess a valid driver's license and meet agency insurability requirements.

Must have a thorough understanding of managing a business and marketing   Prefer knowledge of CARF Accreditation and Fundraising principles.

Adaptability and Flexibility, Teamwork, Communication (written and oral), Initiative, Judgment, Planning and Organization, Problem Solving and Leadership.

Must be able to bend, stoop, stand or sit for long periods of time.
