Organization Overview or Description
Since 1911, one thing hasn't changed about Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center: Our devotion to helping others. The Center provides social services to the West Indianapolis neighborhood, home to around 8,000 individuals, and increasingly serves a wider geographic audience across the city both directly and through partnerships. With a full-time staff of 20+ and a significant support staff of interns, we are working together with our clients to create better opportunities. The Employment Enrichment team has deep experience in workforce development and is growing thanks to recent successes partnering with other organizations in new funding opportunities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1) Employment Coaching that helps clients advance their employment prospects of hourly rate, retention, and prospects for advancement.
a) Enrollment of new clients in a prompt and efficient manner
b) Creation of an individual service plan for each enrolled client and
c) Individual and group coaching with assigned clients
d) Facilitate group events: Orientation, Job Readiness, Hiring events etc.
e) Participate in activities to recruit new clients and meet contracted service goals
2) Program services
a) Coordinate adult learning programs including ensuring a consistent MRNC presence to integrate support services as needed by students.
b) Support the development and sustaining of relationships with members of our Career Development Network.
c) Communicate regularly with Marketing & Communications staff to ensure the creation and placement/delivery of effective communications to our clients and target audience.
a) In a timely manner, complete or ensure the completion of data entry required by funding sources
b) Report Key Performance Indicators on weekly or monthly basis as indicated by your supervisor
c) Ensure client files are current and participate in audits when required
d) Other duties as assigned
Candidates should possess at least a high school diploma. Related post-secondary education may be an advantage. We prefer but do not require that candidates can demonstrate experience of success in workforce development positions. All candidates must show excellent people skills and be capable of effective interviewing and relationship building with a diverse audience. Great customer service skills are also required.
