Position Summary

The purpose of the Director of Foundation Relations is to manage and lead foundational giving for the organization and serve on the fundraising team. The position reports directly to the President and CEO. Primary responsibilities will be to develop unique opportunities to partner with foundations, Grantmakers, and stakeholders to help develop partnership and funds to help the underserved teen population of central Indiana achieve excellence in career, college and community. The position will also collaborate with other staff members on activities designed to enhance and support the overall mission of the Agency.


Grants management (55%) 

  • Write all grant proposals (new and renewal) and reports, including collaborating with relevant stakeholders (Programs, Finance, etc.) to gather required data and information  
  • Ensure systems are in place to accurately track grant deadlines and store all grant materials 
  • Lead the stewardship and renewal strategy for all current grants 
  • Establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with Grantmaker representatives 

General fundraising (35%) 

  • Collaborate with the CEO to set development strategy  
  • Collaborate with CEO and others to develop and execute plans for all fundraising programs, playing a direct role in donor communications  
  • Research and identify new potential donors 
  • Assume a lead role in planning, managing and executing all development events 

Operations/administration (10%) 

  • Oversee the integrity and thoroughness of data in Salesforce System. 
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders to keep them apprised of development activities 
  • Participate in organizational staff meetings
