Like a Lion is a 501c3 non-profit serving the east side of Indianapolis serving disadvantaged youth K through 8th grade. Through the three prongs of our mission, we seek to build up our community through our students. LAL provides stability and opportunities for our children to thrive. Within our program, our students receive stability, academic support, daily meals and snacks, new experiences through clubs and field trips, opportunities to grow healthy, lasting friendships and meaningful relationships with caring adults.
Our program is highly relational. We encourage parents to enroll students at a young age and remain in our program through elementary and middle school years. Many of our students have been in our program for many years. Relationships are key within our program. These relationships help to gain insight into the needs of our kids and their families. They also allow our children and parents the confidence to open up and look to our staff in times of need.
